MY BIGGEST DREAD

Tale Weaver #78 July 28th   –    Waiting

My Biggest Dread

My mother gave me the awful news the day before my appointment.

I worried all day and felt nervous and totally miserable.

The night was not any better.  I tossed and turned and had nightmares.

Morning came sooner than I wanted it to. My stomach felt so upset that I was unable to eat.

The time arrived and we left the house.  There was a very long line outside the building and we inched our way toward the door at a snail’s pace.

I could not concentrate or talk.  I stared off into space and wished I could escape.

Finally, much to my dismay, it was my turn! I stepped up to the table, a nurse swabbed my arm, then gave me a shot of polio vaccine.

The wait was over!

Losing Love

“Hearts, when are we scheduled to leave this city?” Flowers grumbled.

“A few more days won’t hurt, we are a joy to so many and I love it!”

“That’s because you are all heart!  I think you enjoy this.”

“I love to see the look on their faces when they first see us,” Hearts laughed.

“Then, why aren’t you laughing now?”

“Because that kid over there just ran by me with a key in his hand.”

“So, big deal!”

“It certainly is a big deal!  I have scratches on my side and my hearts are bleeding.”

“Is that so terrible?”

“Yes, I’m starting to hate it here instead of loving it.”

SOAKED

“Dennis, come in the house before it starts to rain.”

“I’ll be there in a second, mom.”

“Dennis, your second is up.”

“Look at yourself, Dennis, you are soaking wet!”

“I know, I got soaked from the rain.”

“That’s because you waited until the second time I called you before you came in!”

BLOGGER RECOGNITION AWARD

wpid-20150726090649144

I was nominated for The Seal of Approval Blogger Recognition Award by Susan Langer  (http://susanscreativewritingandpoetry.com/ )  and I sincerely appreciate the award nomination.

Thank you, Susan, for the nomination.

Blogger Recognition Award Rules:

1. Select other blogs to which you want to give the award. You can not nominate yourself or the person who has nominated you.

2. Write a post to show off your award! Give a brief story of how your blog got started and give a piece or two of advice to new bloggers. Thank whoever nominated you, and provide a link to their blog.  List who you’ve nominated in the post.  Make sure to attach the award! (You can do this by right clicking, saving, and uploading the image above).

3. Comment on each blog and let them know you’ve nominated them.  Provide a link to the award post you created.

I started my blog (Reflections Of Life’s Journey) after thinking about it for a couple of years. I have always enjoyed writing letters and decided one day to write a story. My first story was a long one and it took a while to complete it because of being involved in too many other things. I set it aside and continued to wait until I felt I could devote a reasonable amount of time on a blog. My first posting was on 01/05/2015 and I thoroughly enjoy writing.  I try to join at least a couple of writing challenges each week. The challenges are fun and enlightening and I enjoy reading other bloggers posts.

Some recommendations to new or potential bloggers are:

Decide on a name for your blog and what type you are most interested in.  You may like to write stories, poetry , or about whatever your passion is.

Get your blog site set up and join some of the challenges. This is a great way to learn from other bloggers. You will see how they write and communicate with other bloggers and the photo challenges are very helpful . Be consistent in your writing. Try to write at least one thing a week.

Learn about social media traffic and how to diversify it.

Build a community by making your readers feel a part of something and they will come back, and be sure to follow other bloggers.
