Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie and Tale Weaver

# 83   September 15, 2016

I see it sitting on the street waiting for me to arrive.

I dream about it searching for me.

I hear the bell and music beckoning me.

My thoughts,  drawn to it like a magnet.

I can see the succulent, creamy texture of the product.

My eyes glaze  with anticipation.

I can not break the addiction.

I give in, once again!

Awe!  It taste heavenly!

One place to see such a sunset is at Lake Mead National Recreation area located in the Basin and Range provinces of the American Southwest. It is more georgeous at sunset as the deep purple lake and pink skies set off against black hills.

To you, I give a purple rose,

My true love, at first sight.

When I saw you I fell in love,

You smiled because you knew.

Dreams do come true,

Because I met you.

You are the stars in my sky,

The sunshine in my eyes.

You may hold my hand for a while,

But you hold my heart forever.

Like the moon and the stars,

May our hearts never part.

Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies…..     Aristole

Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage…… Lao Tzu

Age does not protect you from love, But, love, to some extent protects you from age….Anais Nin

Life has taught us that love does not consist in gazing at each other but in looking outward in the same direction…Antoine deSaint Exupery

The best and most beautiful thing in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart…..Helen Keller

Love does not dominate; it cultivates….Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

Love makes your soul crawl out from its hiding places…Zora Neale Hurston

Love is like quicksilver in the hand. Leave the fingers open and it stays.  Clutch it, and it darts away….Dorothy Parker

I have learned not to worry about love, but to honor its coming with all my heart…Alice Walker

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.  I love you straightforwardly,  without complexities or pride; so I love you because I know no other way than this; where I does not exist nor you, so close that your hand on my chest is my hand, so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep….Pablo Neruda,  “Love Sonnet XVII”

When I said, “I love you,”

I went over the moon.

My heart sang its glory,

The stars sang in tune.

As when with a word

God brought forth light,

So with these words

You ended my night.

So with these words

You made something new:

A bond of devotion

Between me and you.

How powerful words

To shape who we are!

We ponder in silence;

Our words cross a bar.

Your words crossed a threshold

And entered the past.

Yet they have created

A world that will last.

I love you with all I am

And all I’ll ever be.

You are my moon, my sun and stars,

My earth, my sky, my sea.

My love for you goes down and down

Beneath both life and death

So deep it must remain when I

Have drawn my last faint breath.

Holding you for months and years

Will make Time disappear,

Will make your lips my lips, your face

My face, your tear my tear;

Will make us one strange personage

All intertwined in bliss,

Not man or woman, live or dead—

Just nothing–but a kiss!

Aubrey and Jessie_0001

Aubrey and Jessie

They met at a roller skating rink.

After the skating was over, the dance began.  He introduced himself, she did the same.  They danced that night and made plans for the next week.

He did not have a car, so he borrowed one and took her to a movie.  They dated on weekends, and after a few months he was sent on a training cruise for six months by the United States Marine Corps.

Letters came and went between them.

He came back, they continued to date.  He received orders to go on another cruise for six months.

He asked her to marry him before he left.

Her parents knew nothing about his family and not a lot about him.  They refused to sign the necessary papers  for them to get married.  Afterall, she was just turning nineteen!

They made their plans, and drove to the next state where permission from the parents was not needed for someone younger than twenty-one.  The requirements in that state was eighteen.

They got married by a Justice of the Peace in Wilmington, N.C.

Many years have passed since that glorious day.

He got out of the Marine Corps, went to college, they moved many times, raised three children, and moved to a beautiful and very active retirement community.

It has been almost fifty-one years since their marriage, and they are still very much in love with each other.

Words….wait, meet, tear, accept, cease

I can’t wait

Let’s meet soon

My complaining will cease

I promise no more tears

Please accept my apology

Our Days Together…”Goodbye”

The time has come,
NationsBank is done,
With keeping Area Admin here.

My thoughts go out,
To the many days about,
When we were working together.

At first we were few,
And then we all grew,
To a very large number.

We worked together,
We ate together,
We shared our thoughts each day.

The times were good,
The times were many,
And we thought it would always be.

But now we must face,
The reality with grace,
And say goodbye to all.

May we all succeed,
And one day read,
That everyone is well and happy.

For I know in my heart,
That we will always talk,
Of the wonderful days bygone.

So I say to my friends,

I thought of what to do,
I thought of where to go,
I began my hunt with zeal!

The day was picked,
The time was chosen,
My nerves felt a little frozen!

The door was before me,
I hoped they would adore me,
The interview was about to begin.

They said, “where have you worked?”
They said, “what have you done?”
They asked me to explain.

I’ve worked at a bank,
I’ll have to be frank,
The jobs were quite a few.

When they gave me the cue,
I listed a few,
And then continued on.

They looked at me now,
And then I knew how,
This interview would end the “hunt”

To cry in silence, and be heard.

To see the light, yet not be blinded by it.

To embrace with affection without clinging too tightly.

To hear the sounds, and rejoice with gladness.

To touch the glass with eager lips and taste, yet not drain it.

To see the sunset, and believe there is a tomorrow.

To see the leaves fall, and wait for a new beginning.

To walk in  someone else’s shoes, and know  you have been there.

To share with others, and experience the gift of giving.

To enjoy freedom, and know your boundaries.

On your life’s journey, there are always angels by your side.

If roses are red,

And violets are blue,

What does that say about you?

Your eyes are green,

Your hair is blond,

You are mostly calm.

You like to dance,

But not in France,

A rec center will do.

You stand up tall,

When you are called,

To help someone new.

You paint and draw,

And try to get it all,

Then put it on the wall.

Your happy as punch,

Even without lunch,

As long as you get things done.

Roses are red,

Violets are blue,

You’re doing things you want to do.
