SIX SENTENCE STORIES cue…mine
MINE
Suddenly, we heard a loud rumbling sound and there was complete darkness!
The silence I experienced after the rumble, shook me to the realization that we were in serious trouble.
I called out to Bob, Frank, Jose, and Ryan, but did not receive a response.
I scanned the area for any sign of light, but there was not even a flicker.
Any kind of movement was impossible for me, so I laid there praying and passed out from the pain in my back.
It took the rescuers over two hours to clear the area of the coal mine and rescue us.

Oh my God!
I am happy they were rescued . So many mines become sad death traps .
Great story , Jessie .

I’m with Paul and Moon… eww! Injury and calamity are bad, in and of themselves, to be trapped and enclose… yuck! I’ve been in life-threatening situations (mostly back when on a fishing boat) but at least you could see the sky.)

Yes, that would be a terrifying experience. A terrible way (not that there is a good way) to have your life end!

Being trapped underground would be very frightening. There would be no dawn to bring light and life, you are totally at the mercy of others.

So true, and you have little time for the rescuers to reach you! It makes me wonder how many could have survived this type of tragedy if they had been found just minutes before they were! 😟
