TEST
“Will you pass the test?” Carla questioned.
“Of course I will!” Bethany responded.
Bethany moved slowly toward the dark cave with shaking legs and perspiration dripping from her forehead as Carla followed her into the cave.
After entering the cave Bethany heard Carla scream, turned around and found her lying on the ground with her legs dangling down inside a hole.
She quickly removed her neck scarf, gave one end to Carla, and braced herself holding to the other end while Carla painstakingly climbed out of the hole.
Minutes later they embraced with relief and Carla told Bethany she had definitely passed the bravery test!

That’s the kind of test I don’t even want to take, much less attempt to pass. Caves make me a little claustrophobic anyway, though I’ve been in a couple beautiful ones, but doing it without a guide is wayyyy beyond my comfort level I guess I don’t have a very adventurous spirit in that sense! This is a story they will surely talk about for years to come though! 🙂

I would never want to be tested like this either! You do things when you are young even though you don’t agree with it or want to take a risk. They will indeed talk about this experience for years to come.

Nice friend. A bravery test? I’m glad no one has asked me to pass one. Your description of Bethany bravely, but with obvious fear, entering the cave really hooked me in,
