The Ferry Ride

“Autumn, I can’t believe you wanted to ride the ferry today!”  Brook complained.

“Because we only have three days to spend here and I’ve never ridden a ferry before.”

“Well, did you notice the snow falling from the sky?  It might be the reason we are the only passengers.”

“Brook, where are we going?  The ferry should have stopped back there.” Autumn yelled.

“I don’t know!  The captain told us to sit down and be quiet.”

“Now what?  It’s snowing so hard I can barely see where I’m walking.  I can’t believe he made us get off!”  Brook said fearfully.

“What’s wrong, Autumn?”

“I slipped on the snow and I think I broke my leg.”

“Do you have your phone?”

“No, But I still have that silly whistle you gave me as a gag  gift.”

“Thanks again for the whistle.  It was loud enough to get us some help.”  Autumn said smiling.

“Are you ready to ride the ferry again?”

“Very funny!  I’m just glad the man is going to jail for stealing it.”

Week of 01-03 through 01-09-2017

his week’s photo prompt is provided by Grant-Sud. Thank you Grant for our photo prompt!

Anna, My Love

Anna, I sit here surrounded by beauty, but with a heavy heart and a mind full of wonderful memories.

This is our special “place” and it will always be so.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, but love leaves memories no one can steal.

Often times the memories sneak out of my eyes and roll down my cheeks, especially today.  I have our wedding day sealed in my heart.

We were so happy and looked forward to a long and wonderful life together.

I miss your sweet smile, your winning personality and your pure love of life.

I know one day we will be together once again, but until then, I will always keep you close to my heart and come here to “our” place to share it with you the only way I know how.

Sending loving thoughts to you on this very special day my love.

WEEK #01

“Marsha, your table looks so nice!  I told Alex you were having a wine and cheese party on New Years Eve in his honor even though he isn’t here,” Emma said sadly.

“Emma, maybe we can get Alex on skype tonight!”

“That would be great!  I miss him so much and worry about him all the time.  I’m so afraid of him getting killed, or being notified that he is missing in action,” she said tearfully.

“Don’t think about that, Emma.  Everything will be fine! “

“Thank you Marsh, for such a lovely party.”

“It’s just getting started Emma! We are about to celebrate bringing in a new year and Robert just told me he has Alex on skype!”

Emma screamed in delight and nearly stumbled running to the computer.

It was almost midnight and Alex told Emma he wanted to make sure he said “Happy New Year” to her, but before he said anything else the computer screen went blank.

All Emma could hear was clapping and everyone screaming “Happy New Year.”

She turned around slowly and saw Alex with with his arms open for her.

“Happy New Year darling, I’m home!”
