The Gift
“Planetoid, where is Moon Earth?” Satellite asked.
“She is shopping for a gift to give to her man friend that lives on Earth.” Planetoid said with a grin.
“What kind of gift?”
“It’s called a tie. She’s looking for a large green one with a small light at the bottom of it.”
“What is it used for?”
“It fits around the human neck.”
“That sounds uncomfortable!”
“Yes, but all the serious business men wear them.”
“Why?”
“Because it is part of their business attire.”
“I’m sure glad we don’t wear them on this planet!” Satellite remarked.

Lovely Jessie even if the search goes for a long time understanding the meaning of a tie can take a long time even for us….

Ones appearance often times requires a certain amount of discomfort…odd as it is, but expected. I know I would not be comfortable wearing a tie!

I never thought of how another planet’s inhabitants might think of some of the things we do and have here on earth. Very interesting! I enjoyed this Jessie!

Thank you, Joy! The first thought when seeing the photo was a tie and I pondered as to how to work that into a story. I’m glad it worked out.

Ha, Ha….And, I’m glad I never had to wear one, however, I can think of other clothing I can do without as well!

Ties definitely are odd things. I hope it doesn’t take them too long to find one! An interesting story, Jessie. 🙂

Thank you! 😊 The necktie serves no purpose today but to ornament a man and let him show off just a bit of his personal style. For centuries it has been an essential piece of the wealthy and trendsetting wardrobe.

I love this Jessie~ A brilliant take on the prompt. Whenever I am required to wear a tie; (Not very often these days). I have two favourites emblazoned with pictures of Computers . One actually has a picture of a real mouse with a lump of cheese. I wonder what your aliens would make of that? Well done! Have a nice weekend my friend. 😊

Thanks so much! I tend to doubt anyone ..human or otherwise would enjoy wearing them. I even feel sorry for dogs that have collars on the with a device to pull when they decide to move when you don’t want them too! The harness on their back is more humane.

An interesting look at ties! Why do we wear them? 🙂

Comfort was thrown out the window when the tradition of wearing ties were made fashionable.! Fashion is not always comfortable….or practical for that matter.

You made me smile. As far as i am concerned ties really should be banned or sent into space

Cute on a Jessie. I know many men relate to this, ties can be so uncomfortable. It’s why they’re the first thing to go when they can relax in their office or are at home, I learned how uncomfortable they were going to a uniformed school in high schools. We hated our ties even though we were used to them. Never did kearn how to tie one properly either lol.
The little Alien boy is Rights he’s lucky he doesn have to wear one, but it’s a nice thought the lady alien wants to buy one for her man friend, it us practical after all loll, Nice job on this!

Thank you, Mindi! You’re speaking of having to wear a tie at your school reminded me of my granddaughter thinking about attending the local military academy next year. She was impressed with the school, rules, and their daily routine, as well as their uniforms, but she has never worn a tie. So she may not be impressed with that requirement!
