A Way To Celebrate
“Dylan, look at the beautiful lantern,” Abby beamed with excitement.
“Yes! Maybe we can use some when we have our family reunion.”
“China lanterns originated in China about 1800 years ago during the Western Han Dynasty,” Dylan added.
“Each year during the Lantern Festival people hang up red lanterns to create a festive atmosphere because they are a symbol of reunion. The flashing lights represent peace and prosperity.”
“They will be perfect for our family reunion,” Abby said.
Dylan added, “The frame fabricated from bamboo, wood, cotton and steel wire. The shade made from semi-transparent paper or silk. “
“The lanterns add light and atmosphere to the night.”
Dylan and Abby decorated their porch-deck with beautiful decorated lanterns for their family reunion.
