Crashing Down

I stood in the darkened room and looked around.

This night should the most important one in my life.  Yet, it is the most tragic one.

The love I felt for my fiance was more than words can describe.

The engagement dinner had taken weeks to prepare and I made sure everything was perfect.

The date had arrived and I only had a few more hours to wait.

Then, the phone rang, my father answered it, and my world came crashing down on me!

We learned that the FBI had been closely investigating my fiance and he had just been arrested for the murder of his first wife five years earlier.

  1. What a punch in the gut for that poor girl! She should feel fortunate that she didn’t end up marrying this guy! I can only imagine that she is in shock. Great story, Jessie!!

  2. Woah, scary sudden plot twist! Beautiful and sweet until it punches you in the face with the hard facts of the murder he committed. Love the story!

  3. Wow! Big twist at the end there Jessie. I though the was dead but it turns out he killed his former wife. I’d say she dodged a bullet. It probably hurts her now but at least she won’t end up his second murdered wife! Well written 🌷
