THE OLD WOMAN
“Is this the house?” Rob asked.
“Yes, Steel answered. “It looks like the colored photo the old woman was showing her friend on the bus. Here’s the key behind this red foliage.”
Rob and Steel entered the house, put several items in a bag, then began opening the safe with a blowtorch to avoid setting off the alarm.
Suddenly, the front door opened and there stood the old woman who was on the bus.
Rob and Steel started running passed her but she kicked Rob with her foot, sped around and gave Steel a karate chop, and quickly pulled her gun out and pointed it at them.
Seconds later, the police came in and arrested Rob and Steel.
Detective Ralph Smart removed his old woman disguise and said everyone in the neighborhood would be so relieved to learn of the arrests.

Hahaha! Very sneaky of Detective Smart but at least he caught the thieves! Great story, Jessie! LOL!

Thank you! He had to get creative, although he wasn’t too keen on wearing the wig and dress!

Great twist. You are so good at putting these little twists at the end of your stories. I enjoyed thinking of the detective catching the thieves dressed up as a Mrs. Doubtfire like elderly woman. At first O thought this elderly woman was actually waling on these two thieves. Lol. Nice write Jessie.

Thanks so much for your compliment. I kind of stumbled into the ending and had to keep reducing the word count. I’ve found the word limit really causes me to think of various scenarios.

Yeah for sure. That limit can be both good and bad sometimes.

Brilliant story.
Great set up by the detectives, can’t remember what such houses are called.

Thank you! 🙂 I’m not sure what they call those kind of houses. Maybe they just borrow one in the neighborhood that has had a lot of crime in the area. I know they sit in someone’s driveway sometimes when they are trying to catch people speeding down a neighborhood road, but I’m not sure how the house thing works.

Nice twist. I was glad the older woman was using her karate moves but then it was good that it was an undercover policeman who caught the thieves. Happy ending all around. 🙂
