SINGING IN THE RAIN

Flash Fiction for Aspiring Writers

Week of 12-22 through 12-28-2015

This is a flash fiction challenge (stories in 100-175 words or less) and each story should have a beginning, a middle, and an end.

This week’s photo prompt is provided by Etol Bagam. Thank you Etol for the beautiful prompt!

Singing In The Rain

Melissa was walking under a pink umbrella and singing her favorite song, “Singing In The Rain.”

She heard a voice and it sounded like it came from the umbrella.

“Your wish is my command.”

“What?”

“You requested it, Melissa.”

“Requested what?”

“To sing in the rain!”

“You heard my thoughts!”

“Yes.”

“Wow! That’s pretty scary.”

“Do you know what I’m thinking ?”

“Yes, you think this is a dream.”

“Is it?”

Jake jumped out from behind the fence with a huge smile on his face and said,  “Yes, a dream come true, sweetheart, you can wake up now.”

“Melissa, why are you looking at me that way?”  Jake asked as he entered the bedroom.

She smiled, sweetly and said, “because you always make my dreams come true, dear.”
