Sunday Photo Fiction – November 1st 2015
Sunday Photo Fiction is a weekly writing challenge where a photo is used as a prompt for a piece of fiction using around 200 words. The piece doesn’t have to centre around exactly what the photo is, it can be just used as a basis for a story. I was going to use a photo associated with Halloween, but in hindsight, that should have been last week. This photo instead, is that of a 17th century well that was discovered round the corner from me when they were digging up some land to build a new cinema.
NIGHTMARE
I always seemed hungry a long time before my mom had dinner ready. I would sneak in the kitchen when she wasn’t looking and grab something real quick, then take it to my room to eat it.
The last time I snuck something from the kitchen I fell asleep after eating and had a terrible nightmare. I was so miserable I thought I might die!
I was in a bakery shop eating donuts while sitting in the hole of a huge chocolate donut. I ate dozens of them and I couldn’t find a way to stop eating them! I got bigger and bigger and I was about to explode when I heard my name called.
I woke up and my mom was standing over me with her hands on her hips and a look on her face that told me I was in serious trouble!

Hahaha, I could see the mother standing with hands on her hops with the “you’re in serious trouble young lady” look. I enjoyed this 😄

I can think of worse nightmares! Now, where did I put my donuts?

Ha. I guess we saw the same in the picture. Different stories though. (And I promise I wrote mine before reading yours… ;o)

That way, as I read this story, I was reminded of my waking up from a nightmare story that I wrote on Halloween day. Somehow we all think alike. Same experiences, same life.

No problem. The first thing I thought of was a giant chocolate donut and I couldn’t get my mind passed that.

Lovely story based on amusing nightmare about a huge donut. And we can relate to this sneaking into the kitchen and our moms worried about our behavior.
