JAKE’S PROMISE
Their last moments together was etched on her mind like an imprint of a hot branding iron.
Jake gave Skyler a very tender kiss, then handed her the rose bud he had held behind his back. “I will find you, I promise, with all my heart,” he said with a strained voice.
She stumbled toward her parents as they encouraged her to hurry. They needed to cross the border in the cover of darkness and they were running short on time.
The first time she met Jake he said he was struck by her radiant beauty, and said she was beautiful, like a budding rose.
Skyler and her parents ended up living on someones farm and it had been months since she had last seen Jake.
One afternoon as she leaned against an oak tree, she became startled when she felt a tap on her shoulder. She quickly turned around and came face to face with Jake. He gave her a warm hug, kissed her passionately and then handed her a beautiful rose bud.

Very nice. Your link at Al’s took me to the Wordle for MLMM.
So I read them both. I’ll go back there…too.
