Sunday Photo Fiction – September 13th 2015
Sunday Photo Fiction is a weekly writing challenge where a photo is used as a prompt for a piece of fiction using around 200 words.
Thank you Al Forbes for this week’s photo prompt.
Sitting at the table, Rhonda stirs her coffee very slowly and takes in a few deep breaths.
“Mom! Toby is at it again,” Carrie yells as she rushes into the kitchen with a broken CD in her hand.
“What now,” Rhonda asks?
“He broke my favorite CD! What do I have to do to stop him from being such a little brat?”
Later, while their parents are out having dinner, Carrie leans over Toby and says, “the green eye of the universe is watching you right now!”
Toby shrinks back further against the couch and stares at her with a look of panic. He manages to whisper, “what does it look like?”
“It’s big, round, a beautiful shade of green, and extremely powerful! It can see everything that is happening in this world and it is looking at you right this moment!”
Rhonda is amazed to learn that everything went well and Toby was already in bed sleeping when they got home.
