Flash Fiction for Aspiring Writers

Week of 09-01-2015 through 09-08-2015

The train pulled in and I saw her standing on the platform, just like I had envisioned.

As I slowly walked toward her, she looked up at me and smiled.  It was like we had never been apart.

We enjoyed lunch at our favorite restaurant and spent time reminiscing all the special moments we shared.

We were walking along the pond in the park just like we use to and I felt, somehow she knew this would be our last time together.

She said, “I love you without knowing, how, or from when.  When I saw you I fell in love, and you smiled because you knew.  I wish dreams were like wishes and wishes came true because in my dreams I’m always with you.”

I hugged her and said, “I will love you forever and like the moon and stars, may our hearts never part.”

With my wish fulfilled, I smiled as I faded away into the light.

  1. A beautifully sad story, Jessie. Their love transcends the barriers between life and death. I hope you don’t me pointing out that you’re missing the closing speech marks on both bits of dialogue. 🙂

  2. This is a wonderful story and filled with tender, loving feelings but it is sad that it is all just an illusion That is how I saw it, an illusion. Great story that stirred my emotions. Thank you for participating in the FFfAW challenge!
