Time for another installment of Friday Fictioneers hosted by Rochelle. 100 words or so based on the image below.
KITCHEN
The kitchen was immaculate which was most unusual!
Only the dish drainer, dish detergent, and white pitcher remained on the counter top.
The detectives brushed the entire kitchen with powder, hoping to find fingerprints, but none were found.
It was indisputable that someone had thoroughly cleaned every inch of the kitchen!
Emma never missed cooking a meal, but tonight, there was no meal cooked. She was found on the floor with a cookbook in her hand. A page was missing from it. It was an old family recipe that she refused to share.
The recipe thief had struck again!

The last paragraph makes me to shiver. Perhaps, she had pride in her old family recipe. It’s sad that the thief took her most prized possession!

Yes, it is a bit unnerving to think possession of a recipie would result in such actions. Everyone has their own personal possession and have a right to share or not share it.

Just another of the rather odd things people will kill for, poor Emma.

Absolutely..some people will kill for anything!

Someone killed her for the recipe? That must be some recipe! Reminds me of the story of the Neiman Marcus Cookie recipe. LOL! Although it isn’t funny that she was killed over a recipe!

I agree…it must have been an excellent recipe for someone to kill for it! I’m not familiar with the Neimam Marcus Cookie recipe.

The way the story goes is someone was eating in their dining area and asked if they could have the recipe for the cookies they ate. The waiter said, “Yes, for two fifty.” She said okay. When she got her credit card bill it was for $250.00. So she sent the recipe over the internet to as many people as she possibly could. Those people sent it out to people and so on.

I really wish that recipe is shared that someone killed to get and someone died to give☺️

Me too! It must really be awesome! It would probably put the Ribbon winner or Top Price winner to shame!

Oh boy! The things that drive people to murder still amaze me. What a great twist.

Your right! Some people have no regard for life…unless of course, it’s their own! Glad you liked the twist.
